Open the account or cashier view and check whether the balance is explicitly marked Play Money. Do not infer value from the number of chips or the presence of tournament-style screens.

Use practice tables for the right purpose

Play Money can help a player learn table controls, betting order and tournament structure without risking cash. It does not reproduce the financial pressure or opponent behaviour of a real-money environment.

Treat results as interface practice rather than evidence of expected returns. A large practice-chip win has no cash equivalent.

Check responsible-play restrictions

PokerStars states that responsible-gaming restrictions can also apply to Play Money. Self-exclusion is not a route to continue through practice tables.

If a limit or exclusion is active, respect the account control and contact official support if the displayed state appears inconsistent.
